Professional Cleaning Products vs Shop Bought: What's the Difference?
Professional cleaning products are fundamentally different from what you buy in supermarkets. Here's why it matters.
Concentration and strength
Professional cleaning products are formulated at much higher concentrations than consumer products. A professional grade degreaser, descaler, or disinfectant contains active ingredients at levels that genuinely break down the deposits they're designed to tackle. Many consumer products are significantly diluted, a commercial compromise that makes them safer for general use but less effective.
Specialist formulations
Professional cleaners have access to products designed for specific tasks: bloodborne pathogen disinfectants, carpet pre treatment solutions, industrial degreasers, specialist glass cleaners, and biohazard neutralisers. These products simply aren't available in supermarkets, and using the wrong product for a task can cause damage as well as ineffective cleaning.
The safety balance
Professional cleaning products are more effective, but they also require training and care to use safely. Many professional grade products require PPE, controlled application, and specific contact times to work correctly. This is one of the reasons professional cleaners achieve results that DIY cleaning can't match: they combine the right products with the right technique.
