How to Prepare for a Professional Deep Clean
Getting the most from your deep clean starts before the cleaners arrive. Here's exactly how to prepare your home for a professional deep cleaning visit.
Why preparation matters
A professional deep clean is an investment in your home. The more prepared your home is when cleaners arrive, the more time they can spend on the actual cleaning rather than moving things around or working around obstacles. Good preparation also means we can access areas that are otherwise blocked, which is often where the most cleaning is needed.
Clear surfaces and floors
Before your deep clean, take some time to clear items from worktops, floors, and surfaces. This doesn't mean making things spotless (that's our job) but removing personal items, paperwork, and clutter allows cleaners to thoroughly clean every surface. Pay particular attention to kitchen worktops, bathroom surfaces, and any areas with lots of small items.
Tidy personal belongings
Stow away jewellery, valuables, and any items you don't want moved. Similarly, it's worth picking up clothes from floors and making sure laundry is in a basket or wardrobe. This is both practical (we can clean the floor properly) and gives you peace of mind.
Empty the fridge if it's being cleaned
If your deep clean includes the fridge, it helps to empty it out beforehand. We'll need to switch it off and defrost it if necessary. This works much better if you've cleared it out first. If you're not sure whether your booking includes the fridge, just ask us.
Communicate specific concerns
Do you have a stubborn stain you're worried about? A specific area that needs extra attention? Let us know before or at the start of the clean. The more you can tell us about your priorities, the better we can tailor the clean to your needs. No concern is too small.
Secure pets
For the safety and comfort of both your pets and our team, please make arrangements for pets during the clean where possible. Some cleaning products can be harmful to animals, and unfamiliar visitors can cause stress for both pets and cleaners. If you can't arrange alternative care, let us know and we'll discuss the best approach.
